i relate with this article.....public transit in LA in particular (moreso than the SF bay area, where public transit _actually_ works) is so dangerous and gross that only penniless college students even attempt to use it (then give up and borrow cars from classmates). very mysterious, very sad.

woah! first i've heard of the A line and it's right in the place i was born and went to college. i could have really used this in my college days (I tried to public transit from east LA to the beach, it took 3 hours one way, and i borrowed cars ever since).
