Lovely Stop Work order today.
I get to collect unemployment once I burn through five weeks of banked comp leave.
Had to send a bunch of status reports off-the-clock because it’s the professional thing to do.
Hung out at @jawncon.bsky.social this past weekend! Handed out a few @dianainitiative.bsky.social stickers to folks that asked.
He’s probably asking why they sell so many shades of white paint, when there’s a whole palette.
I missed #PancakesCon due to teaching another course, but will be on the lookout for the recordings over the next few weeks!
Your next hard decision at #PancakesCon is whether to watch "Career Planning in an Era of Layoffs and Storygames" or "Hacking the OSCP & the Practice of Zen Meditation" (or joining Hardware village, or Lockpick Village, or the CTF programs, or getting your resume reviewed, or doing a TimTam Slam,)
I didn’t choose this cat; the cat has apparently chosen me.
Exhausting at times, but being a ‘Noon’ (goon-in-training) was a blast!
I’m really upset here. I’ve been a regular sonar to a few public media outlets. I sent a few dollars every month. Without Federal assistance, was I just wasting time, prolonging their demise?
I don’t even watch PBS, but I threw a few dollars their way each month.
I free the new monthly request…
Huh?
I should reboot the ol’ BBS?
I haven’t looked for that backup for over 20 years now.
We used to call it Plug & Pray for a reason!

It’s on Fox. Therefore. It’s correct.
End of discussion.
Other media outlets have to pay stump for forgiveness of their many sins and corruption. (Just ask our president)
We have entered a new phase… he is correct, everyone before him, or contrary to him, is wrong.
If you don’t agree, you can self depart. “We” elected/chose this.
Ok, I didn’t buy abelkin, but I did buy my sprayers and cables this morning. (Can never have enough cables or adapters, and this way I know when I get home I’ll still have enough, because I now have ‘home’ and ‘away’ charging setups.

Gawd, I’m like a dinosaur with a car phone that they connected to a huge battery and then crammed into a plastic case to call it portable. It literally JUST made phone calls.
I keep trying to find pictures of my first cell phone, a GE-branded car phone shoved into a plastic case to include a battery… it literally _just_ made phone calls.
I just finished seven weeks with a cohort that had been through the wringer, so to speak… which meant that I was also fair game for vengeance.
I stuck with it. Made it (through the rain?)
Tonight I got to log out.
Now I can enjoy Hacker Summer Camp!
Real world continuity plan.
Can’t drive over 50 for a while, but can drive the car until the new tires arrive. Yeah, the doughnut is over 14 years old, but still works. I also found the wheel lock light that I thought I’d lost, but was sitting with this spare tire I’d not needed for over 14 years.
90 minutes later, they actually performed the repair that they charged two hours for, and “cleaned out a lot of sticky goo.”
(Yeah, she is 14+ years old, but like, duh, the VIN tells you that she is old, the odometer is over 130k, but yeah, I am a bad auto owner. Fine)
Paid dealer to replace two pieces of plastic that were roughly $70, plus two hours of labor, plus hazmat fees to dispose of the plastic.
Paid, got in the car, then asked what the heck, to find out (today) that the tech forgot to perform the line item. (I paid before seeing the tech forgot) Argh!
Cat decided I shouldn’t be working today.
I can’t believe the irony of Beethoven playing Bach’s Minuet in G during Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure!

feel so old, remembering the macro vision protection- removed VHS copy I had of Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure.
I still have VCRs and tapes. Call me a hoarder. I confess. For now, I’m watching MGM+.
