@boruttrpin.bsky.social and I have a new paper out in Philosophical Quarterly. We had both written on how inference to the best explanation could work with uncertain evidence. So we teamed up to test some suggestions for how to do that using computer simulations: academic.oup.com/pq/article/d...

Today I read one of the most beautiful poems in @andreagibson.bsky.social 's book "Pansy". It's called "A LETTER TO MY DOG EXPLORING THE HUMAN CONDITION".
Here is Andrea performing it: youtu.be/SMeTA9-zMuk?...

That's very thoughtful. It always bothered me when I saw posts like that. It felt almost cynical, as if it was up to me. What made it worse was that when I applied for those jobs, I was often ghosted, or in the NL, got rejection letters from HR, not the one who posted, that were horrendously blunt.

People from Eastern Europe often experience discrimination in job centres in Germany.
"According to a study (by @aleksandralewicki.bsky.social and colleagues), Ukrainian refugees are accused of social tourism in job centres. As a result, they are prematurely pushed into low-wage jobs."
