Well, with the federal mess in full-blown re-creation, time to move to @bsky.app

I had hoped I-M-P-E-A-C-H could have been left behind. But time to R-E-S-I-S-T @donaldtrumpbsky.bsky.social again.

Rest in power and peace @janegoodallcan.bsky.social

I had the honor to first meet her at @anv-cop21.org in @france24.com

What a force for something so lacking today ... observation, reflection and communication.

This fantastic science & engagement by @setiinstitute.bsky.social is such a double win: important work (see, for example the @unistellar.bsky.social @nasaexoplanets.extwitter.link @nasawebb.extwitter.link work with SETI) and a way for the public to see science in action.

This would be a great term, "Trumpanzee",

Irrespective of your politics, this saves money, creates jobs, on-shores technology capacity, and should be considered by all states (why California has not done this already is a mystery).

The state finalized rules ensuring most new edifices will install electric heat pumps and stoves instead of gas appliances, lowering costs and improving air quality.

As usual, @rbreich.bsky.social is spot on the greed at the top.

But is is only half the story. The depressingly accurate work by @gabrielzucman.bsky.social and Emmanuel Saez highlights how the ultra-rich now pay lower taxes than the poor.

In an excellent question from @chris8048.bsky.social on recent nuclear plant costs in France my co-author @shangwei-liu.bsky.social notes and corrects the record:
dankammen.bsky.social
That is a key: the industry-regulatory bond is tight in @chinadigitaltimes.net - short-term
benefit possible long-term concern?

The related question is over cost dynamics: these are overnight costs and those of operation of young plants very different from later in life and of course at end of life
bistline.bsky.social
Interesting article in Nature suggests China has driven down nuclear power plant costs and kept them stable over two decades, beating the "cost escalation curse" with local supply chains and standardized designs.

I wonder how much is transferable to other country contexts.
