Today is #WorldHomelessnessDay and the Government has announced £715,805 to tackle homelessness in our borough 🙏

This will go towards rough sleeping prevention & recovery, support for children experiencing homelessness, and drug & alcohol services.

A big win for our area! 🎉

A mother contacted my office after the council failed to address a leak that damaged her home and neighbouring properties.

We took up her case with the council and secured £1,000 to cover her excess costs.

September was National Recovery Month.

I visited the Hive of Hope Recovery Day at ARCH — Hillingdon's service for alcohol and drug recovery.

From speaking to staff and service users, I saw first-hand how investment in addiction services transforms people’s lives.

The UK’s gambling industry is worth £15.6bn, yet gambling-related harms burden our health services, public resources & communities.

I joined fellow MPs urging the Govt to levy this billion-pound industry to tackle child poverty and transform life chances across the country.

The Government has chosen Hillingdon as a pilot site for the new Neighbourhood Hub health scheme.️

These 3 new Neighbourhood Hubs will mean:
✅ Care closer to home
✅ Fewer trips to hospital
✅ Reduced barriers to accessing health services

With the Financial Conduct Authority confirming that drivers are being ripped off by monthly payments costing more than annual plans, I’ve written to the Government calling for change against unfair insurance practices.

I've heard from constituents deeply concerned about racist graffiti, hate crimes, and the rise of divisive politics in our area.

Such division does not represent our community.

I raised in the Commons the need for a National Community Cohesion Strategy to tackle this.

Pigeon droppings near South Ruislip Station have blighted the route to our station for years and are incredibly frustrating for commuters and residents.

I’m calling on National Rail to follow the example set in other parts of London and install the much-needed nets to prevent further problems.

Hillingdon Council is the ONLY borough in London that has failed to publish its yearly accounts.

Their finances are a mess.

They have proven they cannot be trusted with our money.

We need independent scrutiny of their finances as a matter of urgency.

I visited ARCH – the Hillingdon Addictions Service in Uxbridge – to view the facilities, including the wellbeing clinic and the beautiful garden maintained by service users.

ARCH offers a variety of interventions and treatments that recognise the complexities of addiction.

Defibrillators save lives ❤️

But in Uxbridge and South Ruislip, we are well below the national average, with 69% of postcodes outside the recommended distance from these vital devices.

We must work with government at every level to improve accessibility in our area ⚡
