If you have been out of work for longer then 6 months up to 3-4 years the experience has broken your brain. The fear the dread and the part no one tells you about the 10000000 Indian scams you have to first fall for then identify for later. It’s exhausting

It’s hard to place yourself in time and space when there are no seasons or holidays. I want to caveat this by saying locals especially black ones version of l.a is different and they manage it. It as a east coaster I lost my self in the sameness and woke up mid forty with back pain

I’m watching a YouTube on ny vs la and it’s pretty well balanced for the most part. The guy said the lack of seasons makes time distort hence the obsession with looking young. That got me as I was there a half decade but I only reckoned with that after I left. I came back legit old unaware

I saw a post that asked “what killed the black barber shop?” The prevalent answer was appointment killed it as ppl no longer treated it as a third space as they waited. I never thought about it but that is dead right. It’s proper buisness but doing so killed it as a third place

I just did an action at work and realized in that second I’ve been doing that and most of my actions since 2003 and the biggest work weary sigh slopped out of me. Like the realization shook me to my core.
