Last night I announced my intention to run for an open Assembly seat in AD-75 — and I did it in the only place I can imagine doing so: @socialists.nyc
Grateful to be included in this @elpais.com piece on Cuban-Americans who voted for Zohran. Our generation isn’t scared of the word “socialism.” We’re scared of rent, medical debt, and living on a knife’s edge. That’s why we’re choosing a different politics.

Climate has not come up very much in the span of this mayoral election. Yet we had record-breaking heat at the end of the primary and now at the end of the general a flash flood that killed two New Yorkers.

A 39-year-old man died after he became trapped in a flooded basement in Brooklyn, as sudden heavy, record-setting rains brought flash flooding to the New York area, the police said.
