Went to see Patti Smith in Dublin last night. Incredible that she’s still performing to this level when she’s almost 79 years old! A great talent, and a wonderful role model. A splendid night was had by all!

Mrs Shan and I went to the opening night of The Nightmare Realm in Dublin on Saturday. Great fun, with the largest scare zones I've ever been through! Highly recommended if you can make it before it ends its run for this year on November 2nd.

It's the start of October so I SHOULD have a new issue of my newsletter to share with you, BUT! Had to drive to a garage to get a puncture fixed, and do some other bits around town. By the time I got home it was 4pm! I'll get cracking on it first thing tomorrow... hopefully!

I'll be kicking off the autumn leg of my 25th anniversary Cirque Du Freak tour in O'Mahony's, my local bookstore in Limerick, where I did my first ever in-store event, way back in the year 2000! No need to book tickets in advance -- come one, come all!!!!

One of the buyers of The Terrified Troll got in touch with me to ask about the letters/numbers in the bottom right. In his copy, it either said M/2 or M/Z -- "What the hell is all THAT about?!?" he wanted to know.

1/2. Got up at 4am yesterday to drive my mother in law from Limerick to London. Got to her flat just after 7.30pm and it was only at that point I realized that I’d accidentally pulled on mismatched shoes that morning!

Yes, I’d travelled all day in odd shoes without noticing! 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️
