The feeling around MSU is the donors have re-activated for this hire. Even after the hazing stuff and Fitzgerald's final few years at Northwestern, he still won a lot of games.

Yes, Michigan State didn't even attempt to try out one of the most wide-open coaching markets in years, but when you have a chance to grab a mediocre guy covered in disgrace that literally no one else wants you simply have to take it

The NFL claims they have made kickoffs more interesting, yet they have simultaneously made the onside kick virtually impossible -- which makes close games less interesting! Curious!!
