Who is telling him these lies? Storefronts with plywood — he’s getting that idea from somewhere. Does he not have anyone near him saying “uh, that’s not true and you sound very stupid”? That’s the problem surrounding yourself with sycophants. No one prevents you from embarrassing yourself.

As someone who does not live in CA but has visited many times and would like to live there — I would never be able to afford it. I am a single person, and even with my good salary there is no way I could ever afford a 1.2 million house half the size of my $400k house in Midwest. Not possible.

I didn’t read that they said it would be a base. There are no foreign military bases on US soil. I assumed they meant a detachment, like other countries have. Thanks for your comment — I will read more about it.

I am actually not a senator. Nor am I a Harvard educated lawyer. No one elected me to represent their interests to the US government. I don’t know what he could do as a senator. I do, however, expect him to know what he can do. I feel like that’s literally why he was elected.

What is their goal? Every American could literally make one phone call. Call a library or a school or a police station. Hey, is Portland on fire? Is it a war zone? No? Your biggest worry is unreliable public transit? And which national park stickers to put on your Subaru? Okay, just checking.

There are citizens of the US who are begging for help because their communities have been devastated by wildfires, hurricanes, floods, etc., and the fed govt ignores them. But cities NOT asking for help? They invade anyway and assault peaceful citizens defending their neighbors. It’s disgraceful.
