I'm a huge fan of time travel series, but this one was absolutely unusual. Some of the normal time travel tropes were there but combined and spun in a completely new way. I highly recommend that you watch Travelers if you haven't already and then check out our episode.

Well, my kid got me to watch this show during Covid lockdown after I'd showed her all of Gargoyles. It's an enjoyable series even though I think that it has a few missteps. We also chat a bit about the live action film and why we think that it flopped so massively.

I think that your cat may feel differently about O'Neil vs O'Neill.

Although I remember seeing the original series before TNG existed, this is the first Star Trek I watched live. It was a transformational experience for geeks, because so many people watched it. It was great revisiting that experience and had a blast sharing with my friends. #sttng #tng

In some ways this show frustrates me. It proves that Marvel can brings its A-game when it wants to and make something that is really cleverly written. It only irks me because they did it for such a minor-level character. Marvel, please bring this level of writing to more projects moving forward.

This show surprised me with how a concept that sounded so strange on paper can just be such an amazing combination of elements that leaves you always hungering for more. I definitely recommend watching Only Murders in the Building and if/when you have done so listening to our podcast ep.

I absolutely love so much of the sci-fi and fantasy landscape of the 90's. It was a joy to discuss all of that with similar-minded people in this week's podcast.

I am really looking forward to the future of the DCU after seeing Superman (2025). As we wait almost another year for Supergirl why not check out both parts of our two-part discussion of the film and let us know what you think?

The amazing @valterink.bsky.social made a color version of the map for Shadow Quest. It really makes some of the features pop
If you're interested in play-by-post with modified Shadowdark rules in a world inspired by Dragon Warrior (Dragon Quest) let me know. #dragonquest #shadowdark #ttrpg

It was great with this one to not only see the beginning of a new version of Superman (we've had a lot of those in recent years), but to see the genesis of a whole DCU that feels like it has a past and a future. Give this one a try as we talk about Superman and the DCU.

Echo was definitely a risk on Marvel's part. Despite a strong performance by Alaqua Cox in Hawkeye, the character wasn't as well known as other Marvel series helmers. It was great chatting with other people about how we felt that this show worked in showcasing the character.

Now if you're worried that discussing box office early could depress word of mouth turnout by generating negative buzz that's an entirely different can of worms, but without some rigorous polling I'm not sure how we'll ever know how much of an impact that has.

If it's not successful than the odds of us getting more of that IP or more films in that style is less. So yeah, love what you love and hate what you hate, but the people concerned with the box office are concerned with a bigger picture.

There are some movies that I adore that did abysmally at the box office. The reason why people care about and are discussing box office is because that's what the studios look at to determine whether something was a success or not.

I'm seeing a lot of people post about how we should just go back to caring about how we enjoy a movie and not what the box office is. They're conflating two different things, and I don't think that they understand reality. First, it's perfectly ok to like anything that you want to like.

If you loved part 1 then you should definitely check out part 2. If you haven't heard part 1 yet then what are you waiting for? Go back and check that out and then come and listen to this one.

We now have a logo for Shadow Quest, my new game based off the world of the original Dragon Warrior ( #DragonQuest in Japan) and with a modified ruleset from the #Shadowdark #TTRPG. If interested in assisting with development or play-by-post let me know by responding.
