Trump is engaged in the SYSTEMATIC destruction of the rule of law.

Only if Congress fights with every legal tool at our disposal including lawsuits in the courts, like we are doing with the Epstein files, can we stop this madness.

Curtains of snow are falling and falling without a sound, except for the occasional outbreak of squabbling among the clearly delighted snow birds. The growing collection of snowflakes in my lap seems to include far more needles than stars.

Imagine what’s happening in the camps.
Imagine how much they’d be lying about what happened without all the videos showing it from multiple angles.

New: Alex Pretti, the man killed by the Trump-Vance mob of agents was an outdoorsmen, a mountain biker, an ICU nurse who "would go out of his way to help," say Veterans Affairs colleagues.

Cheerful. Funny. Gentle.

And still, per sources, Trump officials are urging staff to call him a "terrorist."

the second amendment of the constitution grants US citizens the unambiguous right to bear arms as a last line of defense against the tyranny of the state, and this man was murdered for exercising that right without ever touching his weapon

Deep cold. Somewhere up on the ridge, an oak's icy heartwood goes off like a gun. Ten minutes before sunrise, the eastern sky turns blood-red. A Carolina wren offers the briefest of commentaries.

Cold, windy, and mostly clear for the hour between sunrise and the actual appearance of the sun. Wriggling my fingers for warmth, I watch a small cloud acquiring a glow as it sails off east.

Last night's snow is still falling as wind sweeps through the forest, shaking the trees down. Meltwater drips from the porch roof. Rhododendron leaves, no longer tightly curled against the cold, shimmer in the sun.

Female death metal vocalists are so trendy these days, even thrash bands are recruiting them! Which is awesome for fans like me, who got bored with the sausage fest decades ago. Cheers to Anubis for this new turn with Hanna Preston #metal #deathmetal www.youtube.com/watch?v=p1Fr...

A cold, white expanse of sky with one small blaze off through the trees. It's quiet. A squirrel chiseling a walnut shell is the loudest thing.

Blue sky, orange clouds, and the temperature so far below freezing, the slightest breeze turns my cheeks numb. After a while I notice the complete absence of squirrels.
