Pittsburgh. The Steel City. Home. And I’m just trying to capture it the best that I can.

What a beautiful sunrise in #Pittbsurgh this morning. The last three days have been some of my favorite in regards to photography over the last six months, from the heavy snow, to the cleanup yesterday, and then the beautiful sky this morning.

What a day in #Pittsburgh today, as the city is in the middle of a storm getting more snow than we've had in over 15 years. I was out around 5:00 before the roads got really bad, and it was amazing to see the snow falling on the city. I'll have so many to share, but these are some early favorites.

The calm before the storm? We had a beautiful sunrise over #Pittsburgh this morning, with the vibrant pink clouds reflecting in the frozen Allegheny River. Should be really interesting to see what this view looks like tomorrow...

Struck out on the Northern Lights in #pittsburgh last night but just after sunset today they sure put on a show. Absolutely amazing to see these over the city…they were so bright and visible to the naked eye. Can’t wait to share more.

Yesterdays's sunrise in #Pittsburgh was one of those two for the price of one type deals. At first there were high clouds over the city that caught some early morning color, but then more clouds moved in and the bottom edge of them looked like it was on fire.

The fireworks before the Steelers game in #Pittsburgh tonight looked amazing, and the Duquesne Incline was an incredible vantage point. Let’s hope the show inside the stadium tonight is just as good!

It’s a Steelers Playoff game day and #pittsburgh was lit up black and gold in preparation for the game tonight. It’s gonna be a cold, tough game but I’m calling Steelers 20-14. They just don’t lose at home on Monday Night Football.

Ice on the river. Freezing temperatures in #Pittsburgh. Amazing fireworks before the Steeler game. And a battle on the North Shore to decide the AFC North. Couldn’t ask for anything more.

Here we go.

Wishing you all a very Happy New Year! Thank you all so much for for the support this year, truly so lucky to have to get to share #pittsburgh with so many of you. These are some of my favorite images from last year and can’t wait to see what 2026 will bring.

The whitecaps on the Allegheny River today in #pittsburgh right now are insane. The wind is actually making the river look like it’s flowing the opposite direction. Just wild.

A beautiful sunrise in #Pittsburgh this morning, as the sky caught fire directly behind the city for nearly 45 minutes. It was amazing to watch the scene develop from the West End Bridge, and this is one of my favorites.

Hope that everyone celebrating today had a very Merry Christmas. Thanks for the support over the year...Pittsburgh is truly a special city and I'm so blessed to be able to share it with so many of you!

A beautiful Christmas Eve morning in #pittsburgh today with buildings downtown lit up red and green for the holidays. Sunrise was incredible as well from the West End Overlook, capping off what was a great start to the day.

Another insanely beautiful snowfall in #Pittsburgh last night, and these are two of my favorite images. A ew composition of the Horne's Tree framed by the bushes, and a reflection of the tree where you can actually see the reflection of the snowflakes as well. First time I've ever shot that!

Have gotten a ton of requests about print purchases since the train image, so I thought I'd make a quick post about it (though I'd rather just be sharing images!). See below:

A few snowglobes from the Strip District in #Pittsburgh during last week’s snowfall. I find myself capturing the Strip more and more and these all came out really cool. I’ll have more to share as well but these are my favorites.

This composition had eluded me for nearly a decade, but yesterday I was finally able to capture it. A train rolled through just as the Duquesne Incline was crossing over the tracks in #Pittsburgh, creating a picture perfect winter scene. It was worth the hours and hours I've waited over the years.

Just an absolutely amazing morning in #Pittsburgh today. The snow looked incredible as it fell over the city, and I spent nearly six hours capturing so many different areas of the city. We'll start with a couple snowglobe images of the Horne's Tree and Duquesne Incline though. What a day.

More images from last night’s helicopter flight over #Pittsburgh this time of Kennywood Park. The display is one of the best in the city and you can really see how they go all out on the decorations. Amazing to see it from this angle.

I know that I've been a bit quiet on here lately, but I've still been capturing #pittsburgh everyday, and tonight I had the opportunity to capture some amazing images for Light Up NIght. These were shot from a helicopter over the city, and are some of my favorite holiday images I've ever captured.

This morning in #Pittsburgh the SpaceX Falcon 9 launch was visible from the West End Overlook and it was incredible to see. The rocket and exhaust were illuminated by the rising sun just as it was centered over the city. My favorite rocket launch image to date.

Meant to post these last week! On Friday I had the opportunity to tour the new terminal at @pitairport.bsky.social and it was such an amazing experience. It’s so close to being complete, and I loved seeing how open it was. The ceiling is a work of art, and I can’t wait to travel when it’s all done.

The farthest away I was to #Pittsburgh to capture the moon was 12.4 miles, and last night I was just shy of that at 9 miles but it worked out perfectly. The moon rose right beside the Steel Building, making for an unbelievable composition.

Downtown #Pittsburgh looked incredible tonight at moonrise, and I was even able to capture it behind the Gulf Tower. Even though the river wasn’t smooth, I kinda dig those shimmering reflections.

A view from yesterday morning and what might be one of my favorite images of the Iron City clock in #Pittsburgh. I actually captured this one from a few blocks away, and I think it's kinda cool how the clock just looks like it's floating above the South Side.
