And of course - bad jokes are always a winner

No messing around, straight into something useful that people could take away and use, and not a sales pitch, like the others.

Have submitted 2 proposals for presentations at #Moodle #MootGlobal25 in Edinburgh - one on creating multi-lingual moodles, and the other on creating personalised learning through FilterCodes and Generico Filters.

I have signed up for the #moodle #MootGlobal25 in Edinburgh, really looking forward to going - will hopefully be selected to present something.

This is a really good article and one that is very pertinent. a couple of my clients are currently grappling with this issue - but it is really tricky, as it doesn't seem to be clear where something stops being a digital asset, and starts being a taught course.

I am using Bluesky to try and recreate the early days of 'the other' platform - e.g. when it was good, and it felt like I was interacting with real people (most of whom I knew) rather than corporate accounts, advertising and general rubbish, #ALTM25

Trying to use AI to create video caption files in different languages for YouTube. At first I was impressed when I did this with 1 file, but now that I am trying to do this with 16 files, it is getting very confused - it keeps returning English files instead of Spanish, or losing the timestamps

thanks for the correction - the host company did come up with a different license amount which was slightly less, but still prohibitive. they told us this was a very special offer they had negotiated with HQ....

in the process of working through the scouts new online inclusivity training course, which has been created in a totally inaccessible, awful scorm package....

Yesterday I came off my road bike at high speed - luckily I managed to get away with relatively minor injuries (broken elbow) - so 1 handed typing for me for a bit, although will see how narration works as an alternative.

I'm excited to share something I've been working on... Moodle Registration Rules - a new plugin designed to help Moodle admins reduce spam registrations and improve security without relying solely on reCAPTCHA.

I am really starting to get into the excellent #Moodle Generico Filter - moodle.org/plugins/filt..., which when used in combination with moodle.org/plugins/filt... can do some really clever things - I can create very personalised elements within courses en masse
Moodle Plugins directory: Generico Filter
Generico is a simple filter for creating templates of code snippets and text that can be inserted into Moodle text areas.

So what I am trying to do is work out why the one that is working is doing what it does, so I can do the same to the other one. The settings in the profile are identical (apart from different name, and options etc). It has totally confuddled me
davefoord.bsky.social
In general the profile fields that are on the sign up page, appear in the table, the ones that aren't don't (which I guess is an expected behaviour) - but I have one field that is not on the sign up page, that is populating and an identical one that isn't.

The fields are NOT set to appear on the sign up page (and must not be). However, one of the fields populates, and the other one doesn't - these are the settings.
