What Altman needs to do to make OpenAI viable before its bubble bursts is to find some way to make its existing features appealing to new users, rather than making new features that will only be adopted by its existing users.

And later X-Men writers (even Claremont) have rarely been interested in writing stories about bigotry or civil rights; they're writing adventure stories that use bigotry as the catalyst.

The average issue of X-Men is no more "about" bigotry than Spider-Man is "about" health care reform.

The blunt fact is that Stan Lee created "mutation" as a way to avoid having to come up with new origin stories for every new character, and the idea of using mutants as a civil rights metaphor came a few years later.

And whenever the comics start to build a community full of mutants who have less violently hazardous powers (like the Morlocks in the 1980s, or the millions who lived on the Magneto-ruled Genosha of 1999-2001), the writers can't resist a genocide.

20 years ago, when a mainstream anime did queerbaiting (like Orihime and Tatsuki in BLEACH), you could almost excuse it as subtext that was trying to get around ratings boards who automatically classified any queer romance as 18+.

But now, it's been internalized as a trope. Frustrating.
