Jacaranda season has arrived in Thirroul. (It's not a native but heck. Clouds of lilac & petal-strewn pavements some of us can do with.πŸ˜‰)
I'm watching the latest series of The Witcher, and did ChatGPT write this dialogue? I don't mind the recasting so much as the shitty CGI and bad writing. I do still love the whole Witcher universe, though

Bach's Prelude and Fugue in D Major from the baptism scene in The Godfather. The Goldberg Variations from Silence of the Lambs. Il dolce suono from The Fifth Element
What's your favorite use of pre-existing classical music in a movie not directed by Stanley Kubrick?

Mine is probably "Hall of the Mountain King" from Fritz Lang's M, the main melody of which is whistled by the killer.

Runner up: Howard Hanson's Symphony No. 2 ("Romantic") at the end of Alien

I'm not sure what the art version of touch grass is, but to that end, here is Vermeer's The Lacemaker

The isolated town of Hammond was surveyed in 1879 and named after the then son of the Governor of SA. Like many such towns, there were hopes it would boom but these days it is seen as a ghost town. A few people do live there but it does give off ghost town vibes. It once boasted a population of 600.
