BBC is a disgrace. The story shouldn't be the nationality of 2 of them. It should be the fact that the numbers have more than doubled. They're no more a threat than the other 260 British prisoners who shouldn't be free.

I think about this stuff a lot. Companies try to scale the ability of their most able employees and end up valuing the people who'll follow those new processes over the able employees. It's madness.

It’s not every day that UX researcher whistleblowers testify before the Senate. Yesterday, two former Meta researchers, Jason Sattizahn and Cayce Savage, shared their concerns with safety research for Meta VR products, and more broadly within Meta. So how does UX research move on from here? 🧵

This happens loads and is a sign that UX in that org is broken or unknowingly immature i.e. they think, this is what UX is all about.

I would ask for some evidence of this from the commenter but I don't want to reward it.

Sometimes I reckon LinkedIn would be a lot better without comments on posts at all.

It's bizarre how often duolingo asks you to type out a word in French and that word is very often the exact same in English. Perhaps they could choose words I don't already know. C'est.... bizarre.

This type of behaviour is becoming a theme for me recently. File it under "bored designers just changing shit"
Thanks Apple I didn’t need to see my todo list anyway

I think you mean paedophile sex trafficker rather than financier.

This means your council website (for example) will not be improved by Lilly talking to your council residents or by gamifying your company intranet with XP goals. Most design teams would be best advised to ignore what tech giants are doing.

Years ago there used to be some UX advice that could be roughly titled "You don't work for Amazon". It meant that copying UX patterns the likes of Amazon used was foolish, when you were working for East Dumbartonshire Council. These days the equivalent might be "You don't work for Duolingo."

Keir Starmer must have read my post.

Rayner immediately resigns from the cabinet and as deputy party leader when told she broke ministerial conduct. Mandelson had to be sacked twice from cabinet jobs, was given a peerage for it and we're discussing whether he should be sacked for being best mates with a paedophile sex trafficker.

Unfortunately we need those benefiting from the system to fix it. Same issue with FPTP.

Unfortunately a Reform government seems practically inevitable. But perhaps it's an evil we need to get through to get something better at the other side. Current party politics is not working. None of them are working for us.

Is keeping this government good news? Their defeat in the next general election is about as clear as the Tories in the last. They got a chance because they weren't the Tories and they are now just being the Tories' slightly more competent cousin.

They're not all bands though. Perhaps the national federations should set the limitations and the UCI enforce it. But I think they should.

What on Earth?...
This is absolutely devastating... What on earth is this from Intermarché-Wanty??

Georg Zimmermann 🇩🇪 will wear this disappointment of a NC jersey at the Tour de France.

What are you thoughts on this jersey?

They're just first in line for irrelevance. Next will be Labour. Unfortunately I suspect we'll need to go through something worse than BoJo (Reform) to get politics fixed here.

When you're working on a project that's someone important's grand idea, it's practically impossible to retrofit user-centricity. The best you'll do is a bit of user-centred theatre and some usability testing.

"The BBC’s reputation is held by everyone and when someone makes a mistake, it costs us. I think we absolutely need people to be exemplars of the BBC’s values and follow our social media policy. Simple as that.”
