For any journalists who follow me and work tech or security beats... This is a big deal. This is a big, honking, glaring signal.
Maybe @legaleagle.tv can do a video on what it means or doesn't mean, legally, when an OpenAI model credits me with the creation of a character made by Vince Gilligan?
Want a literal hot n fresh demo of LLM failure modes? Check this out. ChatGPT 5.1 crediting me with the creation of the hit AppleTV series "Pluribus" (or at least the creation of its main character).

I can't begin to describe to you how weird it is doing what I do, understanding LLMs the way I do.

Buckle up, this might be a 🧵

Enjoyed this video by @mike-eagle.bsky.social, from his morning show: youtu.be/kw9DjrODHlo?...

Mike, if you ever wanna have me on to chat, I think I can give you some of the nuance you're looking for; the good, the bad, and the fugly, because I've seen it all as a researcher.

That said, I do not like the rampant targeted harassment I often see on this platform.

I think the recent changes to moderation might prove useful, but I still see the activists (particularly the Black activists) in my TL suffering insane levels of harassment.

Yeah, whenever I want to boggle at how oddly, charmingly effective this place is at parasocial networking I just look at the mutuals for any number or people, myself included.

If you know what you're about, have something worth saying (even if just funny), prominent people notice and interact.
Don’t know how people can spend any significant amount of time here and think it’s an echo chamber.

I’ve got investors, socialists, communists, people with great food takes, people who like Deep Dish pizza for some reason, sports folks, journalists, and any other type you can think of on my TL.

Living in Pima County, I feel the need to comment on Project Blue.

Don't do it.

Do not let it happen.

These companies are like vampires in the sense that once you let them in, they will not leave and they will drain every last bit of your resources if it suits their ends.

Me and Pope Leo XIV could hang out, based on this quote.

No matter if you believe in something or don't, reality is the experience that gives you the good stuff.
Pope Leo XIV told students not to use artificial intelligence for homework, saying that AI ‘won’t stand in authentic wonder before the beauty of God’s creation.’

Many good automated trolls were lost that day.

Me: My research is evolving at quite a pace. I find myself needing interdisciplinary collaboration.

My feelings, staring up at the cliff I've gotta climb even if I find collaborative partners: Can't we take a break first?

And now I continue my hunt for a collaborative partner for the next phase of research.
