A recent study showed that if Australia introduced a 2% to 5% wealth tax on the mega rich it would raise about $33 billion a year. It wouldn’t be unpopular with the vast majority of voters and would allow Labor to address, social issues, more readily and without adding inflationary pressure.

Kelly does underestimate. He hasn’t spoken to Indigenous Corporations who’ve benefited from significant fund injections after the Voice failure for example.
