I won’t be holding my breath for demands from #NOalition, #NeinNews, and others for a Royal Commission into why this happened, how it can be prevented from happening again, and who is responsible for letting it happen, though.

Amazon dropped $75M on the Melania doc — with a big chunk going into the Trumps' pockets.

Since then, Amazon Web Services got a $580M Pentagon contract.

And this week, Pete Hegseth visited Blue Origin facilities as the DoD overhauls how it hands out defense contracts.

Always follow the money.

“One economist writing in the AFR blamed inflation on . . . the Government mandating a 15% pay rise for childcare workers. That’s a stunning impact given childcare workers make up about 1.5% of the labour force." - Greg Jericho

If Jeff Bezos could afford to spend $75 million on the Melania movie & $500 million for a yacht to sail off to his $55 million wedding to give his wife a $5 million ring, please don't tell me he needed to fire one-third of the Washington Post staff.

A recent study showed that if Australia introduced a 2% to 5% wealth tax on the mega rich it would raise about $33 billion a year. It wouldn’t be unpopular with the vast majority of voters and would allow Labor to address, social issues, more readily and without adding inflationary pressure.

He ‘underestimates the extent to which Labor has stood for the fairer and more equitable society championed in Albanese’s 2025 victory speech.’
Kelly does underestimate. He hasn’t spoken to Indigenous Corporations who’ve benefited from significant fund injections after the Voice failure for example.
Carol Johnson proffers a thoughtful and well-written reflection on Sean Kelly’s Albo essay, which brings a nice balance to the broader analysis #auspol
