It’s odd that the rest of the tape plays fine in SP but the “home video” section that’s been taped over it has the speed switching playback issue

No it’s a PAL tape. I tried switching the VCR and DVR settings to NTSC (as I have digitised NTSC tapes before with this setup) and it still has the same issue. I’d like to try it on a VCR with a manual speed setting I could manually set it to SP

I’m not sure what sort of camera was used. Appears to be mid 1990s so I doubt it was a camera that took full sized VHS tapes. More likely it was recorded on VHS-C or Video8 and then transferred to this particular VHS tape and forgotten

It’s a bit odd actually. My VCR can’t seem to get a lock on the correct speed to play it. Keeps switching between SP and LP. So it doesn’t display properly but when I fast forward it you can see what’s going on
