Welcome to my profile! There's so many more of you now, I thought maybe I'd do another #promosky intro:

Around here, we celebrate #MoiraRoseMondays, I'd love you to join me.

I talk about 🎬 #movies. A lot. Sometimes I 'live tweet' using #MoiraRoseReviews.

I think I’m pretty awesome at analogies. How do I put that to use for a job?

Told my son today, while we were talking about emotions, that they should be your GPS. They’re a tool, you shouldn’t let them be the driver. You don’t want to be Michael Scott and follow your GPS into a lake!!

You ever watch a movie and think to yourself that one of the actors looks like somebody else… and then that completely takes you out of the movie every time they are on screen?

Totally ruined this movie because one of the actors looks like they could be a McPoyle.

While this is almost certainly true, they aren’t in my head. They won’t be able to stop the connections my brain is gonna make between “I can be 100% myself with this person” + “it feels good being authentic with someone” = “this person is my friend”.

Is it bad that I don’t want to go to therapy because I suspect I’ll be like Neil Flynn on Shrinking and just want to treat my therapist like my best friend?

I’m worried that therapy will just end up feeling like another person I wish was my friend, but I can’t hang out with for 1 reason or another.

Friends: I love talking with you all… but I’m TERRIBLE at commenting on YOUR posts.

I tell myself I’m ‘too much’, if I comment as much as I’d like and I’ll push you away. Or I tell myself that I have to be a certain version of me so I don’t scare you off.

Fixable, or do I just need therapy?

This is the same way I watch things:

“Oh! I didn’t know the Hulk was in this!” - me watching Now You See Me

Or something like:
“Don’t go in there! He’s a serial killer, you can’t trust him!”

…when I recognize a ‘bad guy of the week’ on a network TV show.

Annual reminder that New Year's resolutions can be fun things that make you happy, like watching more movies, reading more books, and reaching out to friends more often.

I’m not a writer, really… but I think I’d be good at casting. My other idea is Anna Kendrick, Tina Fey, and Lea Thompson playing a family.

Don’t care what the plot is, I want to see that movie.
We’re watching a Now You See Me marathon for New Year’s Eve. We just started the second and I’ve decided we need some sort of sisters comedy where Lizzy Caplan, Kat Dennings, and Zooey Deschanel play sisters.

I don’t care about the plot, I’d watch that movie.

Hah! Then yeah… that’s a bit high.

I don’t have exact numbers, but we feed a family of 5 (and 3 daycare kids at lunch on the weekdays) for 650-750ish USD a month. Some months we push a little over $800 when we need to restock some more expensive things.

I really can’t hardly stand this character in Letterkenny… I can’t believe this show made me like him so much.

It just doesn’t have any business being as good as it is.
Took a break from Spartacus and we’re going through Shoresy again since there’s a new season.

SUPER short seasons like this suck when you’re watching it new, you’re excited for a new season and it’s practically over in one night. But it is pretty nice for the rewatch binges.

Won 2 of my 3 fantasy football leagues this year, came in just about last in my silly little family league.

Took home the 3x Champion pot in one so I think I pocketed a little over $1000 this year!

If you ever decide to buy a physical version, look at the Big Box options. You get WAY more bang for your buck over buying any expansions separately.
December 30, 2025 at 3:49 AM
I thought it was a fun show! Pretty silly.
December 30, 2025 at 3:48 AM
Nice! We’ve got a handful of expansions for it, some of them we’ve scrapped the mechanics it adds and just use the extra tiles.

This game probably has some of the weirdest expansions considering what the base game is.
