I suspect people have been too quick to move beyond No Kings and not to reflect on its political lessons. So I tried to tease out a couple here:

1. It's fine to be negative ('No Kings' is after all a negative slogan).

2. It's good to embrace big tent patriotism.

At this point, it’s foolish to believe Republicans will actually relinquish control if they lose the House in 2026. And it’s foolish to believe Trump will leave the White House if a Democrat wins in 2028. We must prepare for the worst when it comes to Trump & his party’s attacks on our democracy.
