Lover of my Vinyl & CD's of the 70's, 80's and 90's. Have been researching my family tree for over 35 years. Proud Brummie relocated to South Devon enjoying retirement.

No internet for 24hrs. I hadn't realised how dependant I've become for its use. My normal default reaction when thing don't work is to say 'what have I done'. I haven't done anything of course. At least my record player works, and i have unread books to entertain me.

I relocated 4 years ago and have thankfully made lots of friends. Yesterday I got a phone call that one of these new friends passed away suddenly on Saturday. He was only 47. Life can be so cruel sometimes. Can't believe I won't raise a glass with him again.

Few beers with my mate this afternoon. Love my own space and comfortable when by myself, but contact with another human being is priceless.

Venturing outdoors, first time in a week. Have had a very heavy cold. Spent time listening to music and doing some writing. So something good came out from it.

A mate completed 33 marathons on a run from John o'Groats to Lands End on Tuesday. Tonight a group of us met up with him and had a night out to celebrate him raising over £4000 for Devon Mind charity.

A visit to doctors always makes me feel I've wasted their time. Its not their fault, just my own view. I overheard two women discusing their cancer treatment and my health issues have now pailed into insignificance.

Had my annual medical this week. They did extra blood tests, thankfully the results were all in normal ranges, but doctor wants me lose weight. Duh!, you and me both pal!.

Spent a lot of this week sorting through my 7" singles and its opened up a few memories from my teens and twenties when the world seemed so different.
I was always in the local record shop next door to where i worked, don't regret it at all.

Today is about meeting up with my best mate, watch a football friendly, then later meet up with others for a couple of beers. Tomorrow is about music, i'll be sorting through my singles and giving a few an airing that have not been played for ages.

This last 7 days have been full of family, friends, fun, surprises, music, but mostly things that have helped with my well being, just the right mix to make it a rememberable week.

Off out for Lunch in the Harbour with a friend. Another hot day. I used to long for these sorts of Mondays, and to be fair, there is life out side of work.

When I first moved to Plymouth, the first 3 months I stayed in a B&B in the Western side of the Hoe. One minute to Plymouth Sound waterfront. My walk was done that way today. I havent been there fir a while so was a nice change up.

Spent today with my best mate of 30 years. Never short of things to say. Watched the Cricket, like we've done many times, talked about the Blues (Birmingham City Football Club). I have made new friends, but nothing like having a familar face and voice nearby. #history #memories #sport #mates

Lovely summers day. Went walking in local woods area with my neighbour which has a route alongside a private steam train track which is active on weekend in June. A river is also part of the route.

I love this Album.

Annie Lennox
Diva

Annie sings from the heart. Every word & utterance has meaning. As the listener I hang on to every word.

My excuse for a beer is that the rain has forced me indoors whilst on a day trip to Cornwall

Whilst everywhere is enjoying the sun, heavy rain has made its way into the south west over last 2 days. The drains are over flowing and some streets flooded. Its June, not January!
