Open a packet of açaí puree without looking like Lady Macbeth, difficulty level impossible.

CC: DC friends and folks in and around transportation.

This is easily one of the most fun (un)conferences I’ve ever attended. I’m looking forward to the NYC edition later this month!

3. I have an Apple Watch and I’ve been trying to make a habit of using it for as much as possible in lieu of the phone, especially responding to texts and controlling music/podcasts, which I’ve realized make of a huge share of my phone pick-ups.

I’ve tried a lot of different blocking options but I’ve gotten better results lately with the combo of:

1. Keeping my phone in a dedicated place in the house (set up a drop point by the door with a charger)

2. Making myself redownload and then delete Insta and Bsky every time I check them.

The Hudson's majestic in every month, but October might be my favorite.

Oooh this is good to know, part of my family's from Superior and I've thought about combining it with a Boundary Waters trip.

To be clear, I’m totally in favor of a pay-as-you-go discount; pre-paid ticket packs can be prohibitively expensive. But the pay-as-you-go requires travel in a 14-day window; the current 10-packs are valid for 6 months!

If, like me, you use Metro-North or LIRR semi-frequently, but not enough to qualify for the new pay-as-you-go discount, you might want to consider getting a 10-trip pack before they’re eliminated. By my math, the fare for my regular Poughkeepsie-NYC trip goes up **23.5%** without the 10-trip option.
"Pay-as-you-go" mobile discount replaces 10-trip ticket. A new "pay-as-you-go" discount will be available for mobile customers. After 10 peak or off-peak trips in 14 days, mobile customers would get an 11th peak or off-peak one-way trip for free in the same 14-day period. Unlike today's 10-Trip, which will be discontinued, this new fare product does not require customers to pre-pay upfront

Having the best day wandering the Smithsonian museums. Public funding for scientific and cultural institutions is good, actually!!!

There is an elevator too, but there was definitely one time it was broken and I decided I wanted the exercise and walked it. Much regret.

Deeply regretting not getting a second, personal loaf of babka for the train.
