especially in the romance genre I think you lose so much if you make one of the main characters have no friends. how will you show their different aspects. how can the other character interact with them indirectly. it‘s possible to compensate for the absence but you Have to actively make the choice

sooooooo tired of the romance trope where the love interest has no friends. yes many of my fav stories have this trope but you don’t all have to do it!!!! enough!!!!!!!!!! you have to earn being a brooding secretive loner!!!!!!
