😂

As a kid, I once put white masking tape all over my mum's couch, creating little roads and spaghetti junctions everywhere and then put all my Micro Machines on it!

I think a photo existed, but it's since been lost.

Exactly how I view retro...used to be 10, now it's 15 years!

There are, of course, still those who complain about the PS1 being considered retro.... 😄

Doesn't work in retail mode, but it does with Dev Mode.

I paid a one off payment for Dev mode acouple of years back, but I heard it's free now. There are still some good guides on Youtube that take you through all the steps and links you'll need to get it set up. I still use it almost daily!
deadpanflook.bsky.social
yeah, I said that in the next post! 😉

If you're only playing 6 or 7 (or less) games a year then you might as well unsub or go to a lower tier.
deadpanflook.bsky.social
It's a matter of how many games you can get through, though. No point in paying loads if you're only going to play 2 AAA games and 5 indies.....

It's all a bit of a mess, and I'm still a bit unsure on whether I'll downgrade to Premium, but the more I think on it, I'll probably stick with Ultimate
deadpanflook.bsky.social
If we get the rumoured AAA price increase to £80 per game after New Year then that gets you 4 AAA games, meaning Game Pass is still an ok deal...

However £276 will get you about 13-14 indie games at around £20 each. But I'm also guessing a lot of the '75 day 1 games' will be indies, so still good?

If you're going to ditch it, instead fire up the now free Dev Mode, stick Retroarch/Dolphin/XBXS2 etc. on it, and use it as an emulation beast, and it is now the best glorified paper weight in the world.....

Been a tough couple of months with family drama, health, etc. but planning on getting back streaming tomorrow with a spooky, Halloween themed games stream at about 9pm UK time...

Drop by if you can for the first ever Gruesome Games live!

Have some more #OldVideoGameAds from C&VG, dated June 1987.

The games are Kinetik, Metrocross, Oink! and R.I.S.K.

#C64 #ZXSpectrum #Amstrad #AtariST #retrogaming
Kinetik ad for c64, Spectrum and Amstrad computers...showing two tower like structures with rounded edges, above a vast forest. A spherical ufo flyus over the top of the structures and at the back of the picture a rier can be seen with a curved pipe-style bridge crossing it as more forest stretches beyond. Metrocross ad for Spectrum, Commodore, Atari ST and Amstrad computers, in which the image is tilted slightly to the left and showing a man in a red armoured suit, skating towards the camera along a blue and white tiled corridor with metal walls, with his right hand stretched out toward the camera. Some of the tiles are lifted, making them into small ramps, and a big red block has just been avoided by the skater to his left... Oink! ad for the Commodore, Spectrum and Amstrad computers, showing Uncle Pigg, editor of Oink! comic and indeed, a pig, siting in his office chair playing a game on a computer that seems to feature the comic's superhero Rubbishman. There are screenshots at the bottom of the ad showing three mini-games....Pete's Pimple, which seems to be an arkanoid style game, Rubbish Man, which has you looking at the hero from a top down perspective as he navigates some corridors, and Tom Thug, another top down game where you flick between screens in Tom's Thug-Mobile R.I.S.K. ad for the Commodore, which sees two one-seater plane-type spaceshipsfiring lasers at another red ship in the foreground which is a close up view of a helmeted and visored man sitting in said craft holding the steering wheel, as he trys to dodge the incoming laser fire
