Still reeling from the Stanford report on Brexit. Reduced GDP by up to 8% and investment by as much as 18%. The UK Treasury would have £40 billion more each year if Britain had remained in the EU. Devastating self-immolation.

As renewables eat into the energy market + EVs reduce demand for petrol, fossil fuel firms aim to step up production of plastics + chemicals made from oil + gas. By mid-century, half of growth in demand for oil is predicted to come from making more plastic + chemicals. A must read 👇🏾

Thank you all who emailed their MP about protecting nature in the #PIB. We're disappointed that MPs didn't vote the way we hoped but we’re not giving up. Debates continue and we’re urging MPs to make the right decision for nature.

Awful to see this plastic pollution at Rye Harbour. Devastating.
Sussex Wildlife Trust CEO, Chris Corrigan, visited Rye Harbour to see for himself the extent and impact of the terrible plastic bio-bead pollution on our nature reserve.

We need to ensure our elected officials are acting on the best intelligence when it comes to tackling the climate crisis . It's why I'm opening the National Emergency Briefing on 27 November , ensure your MP is attending at nebriefing.org

This is exactly what we’ve been saying for months and have the evidence to back it up. Unlike the government who have zero evidence or justification for their approach. They are basically destroying what’s left of our wildlife to line the pockets of the big housing companies.
This is what many of us have been saying. Part 3 of the Planning & Infrastructure Bill is based on a myth: that we don't have enough homes because wildlife and green spaces are protected. It will solve nothing, and inflict terrible harm on our remaining ecosystems

I’ve just announced I’ll be leading a National Emergency Briefing on 27 November . At a time when climate is in free fall on the political agenda , it’s vital our leaders realise what is at stake if we do not accelerate a just , green transition for all .

Yes, I know, you may be sick of reading about this or feel you’ve already written to your MP several times or are running out of energy on this long running saga - BUT - please, for nature’s sake, write one more time. 1/3

Worrying reports of bird flu (avian influenza) are coming in, including an outbreak in Whooper Swans in the Fens. Other waterbirds are also being affected, and cases are rising.

The #PlanningBill is in its final days in the Lords. This is the last real chance to make sure England’s planning system helps – not harms – nature. 🌿

We’re backing key amendments to put promises into law and secure nature’s place in planning.

This what we’re up against. Our essential natural world (and us who wish to defend it) portrayed as traitors and blockers.

Oh MHCLG you’ve got this so wrong.

I’ll say it again NATURE IS NOT THE REASON FOR THE HOUSING CRISIS - fix what’s really wrong and stop blaming wildlife for your failures.
