“AI” isn’t a tool or technology or even a cluster of technologies with a misleading name. It’s the infrastructure at the foundation of a form of capitalism dependent on data brokering. We should be teaching our students about this and not teaching them about “responsible” use.

I couldn’t believe it! Again, I wasn’t a guest on the show; no one from the show contacted me. There was NO reason he had to mention this book at all, but he did. I thought it was such a kind thing to do, and I’ll always remember it. It made me glad to know someone like him was on the air. (5/5)

A few days later someone shared a clip with me. Somewhere in the middle of his late night show, @jimmykimmel.com did a kind of mini-monologue on Living Language Dothraki. He made a couple of jokes, of course, but not in a mean-spirited way, and he gave it an earnest plug. (4/5)

For someone like me that came out of the conlang community, it was really special to see a publisher treating a conlang seriously, putting out a book like this. I didn’t expect it to sell very well: its existence was enough to make it special. (3/5)

Back in 2014 I released my very first book called Living Language Dothraki. It meant a lot to me, because Living Language was, up to that point, simply a language instruction publisher. They’d never done anything conlang-related at all. (2/5)
