For the Western Australian Fibre & Textile Association's latest exhibition, they didn't ask for statements. We simply gave titles and viewers need to work it out for themselves.

My work is called 'Outbreak of peace'.

My partner did some sneaky planting in my part of the garden. Last week we had to cancel our trip north to see wildflowers due to storm damage to our house, but now our own garden is looking extra special.

"Invisibility is the new radical position – I feel like I’m in a parallel universe not being on it."
“My life is very analogue. As is my practice.”

I can relate. Instagram in particular has become an inefficient, soul-sucking trap for many artists.

I had an art night out in Perth with a friend I hadn't seen for too long.

I bumped into so many people, heard an excellent art panel discussion, saw a fabulous exhibition, had some dog love, and bought my partner a present. Now I'm listening to music on the train home and trying not to whistle.

A fascinating read. "Participatory arts hold up a mirror first to those who take part, and then again in the reception and judgement of subsequent viewers. The difficulty comes when we don’t like what it reflects."

Signed and sharing. Aotearoa NZ's Deputy Prime Minister David Seymour has orchestrated a campaign of online harassment and intimidation against university scholars. It is completely unacceptable.

On this residency, I was finally able to hang another (huge) collaborative community artwork.
Many drinks, cakes, and chats were enjoyed around this tablecloth. Conversation snippets were then recorded by experienced and learner stitchers.

I've been visiting a school and teaching children to sew as part of my residency with #NorthMidlandsProject
While making joyful rosettes, the children learned basic stitches and how to sew on buttons (and sequins!)
I loved hearing them declare, "I can sew!"

Moments of comfort and joy. 2025.

Made as part of my Here + Now residency in the North Midlands region of WA.

This residency ended up being quite different from the plan. I'm thrilled to have been able to complete it and have such an enriching time.

Walking, wandering, and wondering. Looking and seeing. I love a walk with no destination or reason. I spend so much time sitting as I work (making textile art), so these walks do actually have a purpose.
