A misadventure is an accident, a mishap or an incident resulting in negative consequences. You can't say any of that applies to LRZ here

Farrell should have been there ahead of Henshaw on Day 1 anyway, although I will say Henshaw was one of very few Leinster players to come out of Saturday with any credit. The other is Alex Soroka who I'd like to see added as a training player in Gleeson's place. He's started the season really well

This #PresidentialElection campaign goes down as one of the worst in my voting lifetime: weird without being sufficiently interesting, unedifying without being sufficiently dramatic
But look, we might end up with a president who does keepy-uppies with the ROI team when she meets them at the Aviva🤷‍♂️

All that said, for the first time in 30yrs, I am not certain if I'm actually going to vote at all
I don't have any ideological issues with the candidates but I have no particular grá for them either. I'll probably make my mind up at the 11th hour (literally: the polling station is 5mins walk away!)

I literally have no idea what Heather Humphreys stands for, bar a few light (i.e. safe, non-inflammatory) comments around Irish unity because her side have been so bad at actually putting her out there or putting their side of the story across. They'd much rather throw weak jabs at their opponent.

It's exactly what this feels like. Hard to know why they thought this kind of "anti-support" would work in as parochial a country as Ireland

... and the Irish reaction to that kind of thing has always been "well, f*ck ye anyway" & they side with the "victim" rather than the "aggressor". It all just seems like such desperate flailing in the face of bad polling & it's almost certainly going to backfire badly come polling day on Friday

I'm aware politics is a dirty business & this approach is nothing new but FF/FG are just so bad at it. It also shows a fundamental misunderstanding of the current mindset of the Irish electorate. This comes across as bullying from the big boys rather than a legitimate approach to campaigning...

Then, when that blows up, instead of actually highlighting Heather Humphreys' strengths, they seem to take the advice of a man whose main claim to fame is that he is a bankrupt bookmaker(!!) & go on this half-arsed smear campaign against Catherine Connolly like a parish hall production of Mean Girls

Firstly, the Jim Gavin of it all. Absolutely ridiculous from start to finish & I say that as a Dub who idolised the man when he was manager. Putting forward a guy singularly unsuited to public speaking, let alone public office, & not doing basic due diligence on his personal dealings? Laughably bad

I'll preface this by saying I'm not a particularly political person BUT I don't think in my 30 yrs of voter eligibility I've ever seen as amateurish an approach to a campaign as that which is being put together by FF/FG for the #PresidentialElection

The consensus is that Tommy has been pulled because Mack Hansen did himself a mischief (or more accurately, had a mischief inflicted upon him) in Galway last night. Not ideal. Also, two Number 8s going into the Autumn Series with no minutes in their legs in quite some time is... sub-optimal 😬
