First time using a Magic Trackpad with my MBP for work. The temptation to reach for my mouse is still there. So far I love the gestures for navigating web pages and full screen apps.

Bong Go can keep telling himself that, but in the end he's Duterte's Errand Boy first, and Senator of the Philippines second.

Ang daming Pilipino sa Threads. Sana dumami din sila dito sa Bluesky

I just saw the news about Dennis Padilla and his daughter's wedding. People were so quick to judge or defend him.

The truth is we don't know the full story - and even if we do, we have no right to pass judgement to any party.

Remember the Gospel from last Sunday - John 8:1-11.

If doing something for your country actually justified it, dictators would be saints, tax fraud would be patriotic, and every drunk uncle at a Christmas Party would be a political genius. Spoiler alert: They're not. (4/4)

Or, "I cut in line at the grocery store… for the sake of my country!" No, Betty, you just didn’t want to wait for your turn like everyone else. (3/4)

Imagine someone saying, "I robbed a bank… for the sake of my country!" That doesn’t suddenly turn them into a national hero—it just makes them a criminal and a bad liar. (2/4)

Oh, you did something for the sake of your country? Well, congratulations, I guess? That doesn't magically make it a good thing. Saying that is like putting ketchup on a burnt steak—it doesn’t fix the problem, and now you've just made it weird. (1/4)

For the incoming PH elections - the people must now start asking our senatorial candidates about their position on the upcoming impeachment proceedings on the Vice President. Anyone who's not willing to check the presented evidence prior to giving judgement should not be elected.

I have come to love watching SP Chiz Escudero's press conferences. Straight to the point and light hearted at times.

I smiled giddily knowing that Representative Luistro is part of the House Panel to lead the impeachment case. Let's see what happens next.

February 5, 2025 at 6:35 AM

February 5, 2025 at 6:35 AM

Apparently Jose Rizal (i.e. our boy J. Rizz) will be in Civilization 7 game. I don’t know how the game works but this guy wins the day for me

I absolutely destroyed my 3x25 Tempo workout yesterday, a first time to complete once since I got back to cycling. I once again realized that positive self talk will get you somewhere and that you won’t grow if you don’t go out of your comfort zone.

Rewatching Chernobyl. Its first words hit different these days.

“What is the cost of lies? It’s not that we’ll mistake them for the truth. The real danger is that if we hear enough lies, then we no longer recognize the truth at all.”

Spaniards used to deprive native Filipinos quality education to perpetuate the ignorance and weakness thus keeping them at bay. Looks like some of our politicians have taken notes and doing the same to us. Turns out political science has a term for it: Predatory Governance.
