They're cheap! But if you want CDDA, you need ArdSCSino Plus or ZuluSCSI Blaster. Less cheap.

I believe all you need is a SCSI card and an external SCSI CD-ROM drive (or SCSI emulator) that is supported by existing PC-98 drivers. I know others are doing this.

(3/3) Note that not all Towns models, and not all software, is supported. The Boot Loader software can run from HDD, CD-ROM, or FDD.

You can read more about it at the link below.

(2/3) As you can see in the video, CDDA is coming directly from this Panasonic external SCSI CD-ROM drive out to a speaker, but you'd simply mix that into your audio chain for seamless integration.

Pretty cool! 😎

(1/3) Using the amazing Boot Loader from CaptainYS (author of the Tsugaru emulator), FM Towns owners can leverage external SCSI CD-ROM drives (or CDDA-capable SCSI ODEs like ArdSCSino Blaster and ZuluSCSI Plus) to enjoy *some* software, even when their internal CD-ROM drive is dead!

My theory is fear over an epilepsy trigger. Remember how paranoid people got after that episode of Pokémon aired and the news from Japan hit the West?

If you don’t have an ODE and need a burnable CDI for this, shoot me a message 🙂

Weirdly, the PAL and NTSC-U versions of "Bangai-O" had their brightness turned down, something fans have lamented for years.

Now, thanks to Vague Rant, you can enjoy the correct colors with the PAL, NTSC-U, and even VGA-patched NTSC-U versions!

Spotted on my drive this morning. If I ever need electrical work done, I basically have to call these guys… don't I?

Shamelessly post it again in another year or two. This photo is awesome 😎

Very interesting...

Disc 1 of the first movie refuses to play on any model of Saturn VCD card that I own. I've tried physical disc as well as via ODE.

Meanwhile, it plays fine on computer and standalone VCD player hardware.

I'm going to try reauthoring the disc if possible!

The "Infernal Affairs" trilogy on VCD just arrived! These are subbed in English and will be uploaded to my repo later today.

Funny though, the box had a U.S. Border Patrol sticker wrapped around it informing me the parcel was opened to check for contraband!

So what I'm hearing is you'll be downloading the rips from me and then watching them on your Saturn.

Ashamed to admit I've never seen them, but I will soon be correcting this 😎

Yeah, it can be fun for sure. Very cool.

You know where to find me, my friend 🙂

Finally got a Greaseweazle, and now I can dump FM Towns floppies!

Chances of me coming across something undumped isn't likely, but there's always the possibility... 😅

It's an X68000 MIDI kinda' afternoon 😎

Side note, this also brings VM2 compatibility to the MODE for virtual VMU auto-create/switch.
