Wikipedia has put out a comprehensive list of how to spot AI writing (for now). Keep in mind, humans naturally do many of these, so watch for multiple instances of many of these before jumping to conclusions

It's going to get harder spotting AI the more it develops

So, no. I much prefer to do the work myself. It's creative and fulfilling. You may just be picking up on the fact that most of my career with writing has been:
1. technical writing for companies
2. social media/marketing/donor relations related
3. research related

these articles involve a lot of research, and AI best practices include things like always double checking research. It likes to hallucinate/make stuff up if it doesn't know. At that point, it's simpler to do the research initially rather than looking for documents that support what AI pumps out.

A question has come in on our feedback form asking if AI is used to write articles:

I'll always be transparent about the use of AI, marking any content (where possible) that's been generated by AI, which is not a lot.

It would be faster, and I'd be able to get out more articles a year, but...

The next three D-Scripts were going to be about describing floods, flood survival, and rain. Considering the recent deadly flooding in Texas, we're going to postpone those a while and work to get another D-Script up soon.

The Oxford Comma helps with clarity. One of the last things you want is to make your readers have to stop and go back to reread something. You'll kill your flow.

AI does a ... decent (?) job at replicating human writing. Ish. It's only going to get better though.

For now, even AI uses em dashes wrong. It even overuses them. You're not going to be able tell based on something so minor.

Accusations of AI use seem to be flying around based on nothing more than vibes. But there’s (almost) no shortcut to knowing for sure.

I just found this, and it seemed to fit, so we're adding it! Even if it isn't part of the post.

Writer's tip: If you use "my loins grave the pleasures of the flesh" in your novel, please don't blame us!

Fair! We get some pretty unique suggestions sometimes. However, I feel if one person asks, many more haven't thought to or don't think they should.

It was really hard to avoid getting into too many extraneous details that wouldn't be much help to authors on this one! It's such a complex and very misunderstood condition, and one very easy for even people with chronic pain to understand in others.
