My girl just got accepted to college. Time is an illusion… but the fact I had to put on my readers to see the acceptance letter feels painfully real.

OK, my fellow K-12 IT people. Look at this Chromebook and tell me what you think the excuse was.

I managed to find a not bad picture of myself.

I love this new WireGuard interface I built for Linux called WireWarden. I use it a few times a day, nearly every day, "it just works." I still love the terminal, but when "wg-quick up/down yada yada" gets old, one click wins.

Busy weekend! Just launched xPing, a cross-platform network monitor with a PyQt6 GUI & curses-based CLI.
See live latency, jitter & packet loss across hosts with beeps, sorting & exports.
Simple. Fast. Cross-platform.

🚀 Just launched PacketPaper. It captures your live network traffic and turns it into generative art.
Each packet becomes a glowing arc across a digital nebula, circuit board, or sky.

Your packets deserve to be pretty.

I thought the only way to get Seacrets spiced rum was to make the 5-hour drive to Ocean City. Then I’m walking through ShopRite Liquors and spot it sitting there on the shelf like it’s been waiting for me. Smooth, spiced, and zero traffic… can’t beat that.

Just dropped WireWarden - a lightweight PyQt6 GUI for controlling WireGuard VPNs on Linux.
Auto-detects configs, shows live status in color, bring tunnels up or down with a single click.
No terminals. No nonsense.

Just finished making a big batch of chicken, carrots, and sweet potatoes topper for my big guy, Mack. He eats it so fast I don’t have to worry about plating or garnish.

Upgraded a few servers to Debian 13 so far... smooth as glass. No smoke, no drama, no tantrums. Thanks @debian.bsky.social

Proxmox and PBS got the upgrade treatment too.

Monday morning, my workstation gets its Debian 13 crown. I can't wait. It's like Christmas morning for sysadmins.

Ugh. Why does Windows Server eat 15GB of disk space on a clean install and need 8GB of RAM just to sit idle? Between the bloat, unnecessary services, and nonstop update headaches, I’m done. Switching everything to Debian. 🐧 #Linux

That moment when you spend 30 hours chasing an Entra/Intune/Kerberos issue…

Overcomplicate it for wayyyyy too long…

…and the fix was essentially one checkbox.

Yo, Kash Patel and Donald Trump... wheres those unredacted Epstein files you promised us. The whole CA thing feels like a distraction.

This is pretty funny. I'm pretty sure, in the videos I saw, that both protestors AND law enforcement were wearing masks. Why are the ICE agents and other feds wearing masks? What do THEY have to hide? IMO, law enforcement should properly identify themselves.

You know, I really like Proxmox.

Hyper-V, even on Core, is still bloated like it just ate Thanksgiving dinner.

Meanwhile, Proxmox runs lean and fast. Plus, it’s got that Debian goodness going on… the entire install is just 4GB.

Long live the Penguin 🐧
