We've been slow to post #gamedev screenshots but please be patient 🙏 since our art is hand-drawn. We're an #indiedev and don't use gen AI for any assets or code, not even for placeholders so nothing's accidentally left in. We also use every draft as an opportunity to practice or learn ❤️

Play a card to establish your groove and skill, one to affect the crowd's vibe and chill, and one for a bonus. Match their vibe and exceed their expectations to get applause and fans!

What #MAGFest meetups should we look for?

We're an #indiedev duo near DC working on a music game (not showcasing in 2026, but submitting for 2027). We follow IGDA DC but we're also comfy with small events

Other indie devs? Anything #MIVS -related? Garage bands playing #vgm? (relates to our game)

It looks like dual-posting in #Spanish for our Western Hemisphere friends hasn't been as successful as we'd hoped. We're going to suspend #multilingual posts on #bluesky for the time-being, but will absolutely restart in the future depending on how our following grows. In the meantime, los sentimos.

We just found out that we can't make #multilingual posts on #bluesky. Well, we can, but it appears most users set their content language to just their native language and that causes Bluesky to filter posts tagged with multiple languages, so almost nobody sees it 😕

Maybe separate posts work better?

I'm feeling inspired to compose new #gamemusic in the #indiedev studio today. 🎶 I'm thinking of a droning but driving background track and a sister track in a relative modal key. Then I can create a mashup of the two for a 3rd track, which could create musical symmetry among them. 🤔

Our #indiedev duo has a functional game loop demo! It's ugly and not ready for public comment, but our game designer and tester can help us get there. Now our process switches from building to refining. It's a fun transition!

Our friends @playmodeofficial.bsky.social made something exciting for the #Dune Imperium Uprising #boardgames that holds all of the game pieces in AND out of the box so they come out ready to play! Cut our setup time in 👉⅓👈

Save drafts! 🚨

#IndieDev isn't a perfect process. We discovered our #gamedesign was bad when testing the game loop and it felt like failure. Was there a bad change or was it always bad? 😨

Luckily we could revert to our first draft cards and game balance was restored, revealing the bad changes. 😌

No more working title!

"Improve the Groove" will be the first game from #indiedev Studio Dhjamb!

We felt like this was a good fit after developing the mechanics of how audiences react to your band's evolving musical style that is based on how you upgrade and play the cards

Some big developments last month...

- Theme established: Music! Build a band and earn fans around the world!
- Outlined a #gameaudio structure using #Godot for dynamic background music to support the theme!
- Game title brainstorming (soon no more "Project Purple")!

Work on the #gameaudio and #gamemusic is taking off! We had a great meeting with our collaborating analog #drummer to conceptualize and compose distinctly different moods that complement the draft synthesized tracks. Can't wait to see how this plays out (pun intended)!

We learn more and more about what we can do with #Godot for #indiedev every week! And today we'll give the first demonstration of Project Purple (working title) to the game designer who helped us create the physical card prototype that our deckbuilder is based on.

Well, it's not always about #gamedev in an #indiedev studio. Sometimes you're trying to get #linux and #godot to run well on a laptop that wasn't specced for #linuxgaming development and demonstration. However, it's good manners to share when you succeed:

We revisited our list of game conferences to consider and saw that ECGC has ended. 😢 What other east coast #gamedev conferences are US #indiedev studios interested in?

We're looking at #godotcon and next year's #magfest since we're mid-Atlantic, ourselves

Meg, represented in our hearts, was our best friend, D&D DM, and couch co-op partner

She had millions of fans of her fanfic and Let's Play videos and was the first to say, "we should make a game." In memoriam, she brings her passion to Studio Dhjamb as our honorary 3rd founder
