The first thing I remember from my first trip to the UK is: "Antisocial behaviour"
Next thing is:
"If you see something that doesn't look right, text the British Transport Police. We'll sort it. See it. Say it. Sorted."
The promotion of suspicion and fear of the other is itself antisocial imho.

I have learned some French in high school and been learning Dutch while here in the Netherlands.
Going to Belgium and finding stuff in both French and Flemish (Belgian Dutch) has made me feel like I am becoming more Belgian than Dutch
Going to Canada made me feel Canadian as I speak both EN and FR
