In that, the story is to the point and reads quickly. With the help of the chorus and the tragedy that we know already comes to pass.

Finished the Penelopiad

In a cynical, alternate view of the Odessy, the reader listens to the ghost of Penelope as she recounts the tale.

While her husband was paraded for his deeds we instead see the domestic injustice brought onto his wife and her staff.

With only 5 long chapters spanning almost 200 pages, it was an intriguing read. There are more to this book series and I can't wait to dig into them.

Similarly as when reading Alice in Wonderland, I felt odd reading the book. Not a bad thing but notable!

Finished Annahilation
The cover intrigued me as much as the film inspired by this!

Reading the slow changing ideals and mystery the biologist observes, it leaves you wondering if it really IS a bad thing to allow nature to change.
To evolve.

An ecofiction bordering on Lovecraftian for sure!

I picked this up because it looked like a comfy boom. And devoured it because of the story.

The writing and characters kept me engaged with each page turn and the ending knocked me off my feet!

I fully intend to get more of Galland's work as her storytelling is impeccable!

Finished the Fools Tale by Nicole Galland

A fitful enemies to lovers tale strikes in Wales as Isabel marries into the country for peace.
She finds little, however, as the king and his bosom friend Gwirion torment her endlessly.

Until suddenly they both find love separate from their soverign.

I almost enjoyed the lead up better! Getting to know the characters was enjoyable and entertaining, and the audio book speakers were excellent!

Truly it is classic in the way that it seems like an impossible task to beat, and I rather enjoyed it!

Finished listening to Dark Woods, Deep Water.

This is a wholly classical tale with a lead up to the chance meeting of our three narrators in a castle haunted by Morana- goddess of death.

Only time and blood will show them how to be free of its clutches.

SO! Culvert's horns have filled out!
Despia's signature curve is more than apparent (as is the hint of blue along the inside. ...or is that Athena's influence?)

Still gave my girl the couple points of seperation from the horn so it looks like they might connect. But I love it~
