As a member of my local SACRE, this week's announcement about the RE curriculum is good news. But Daniel Moulin is right. @theconversation.com theconversation.com/making-re-pa... @munirawilson.bsky.social
Making RE part of the national curriculum will promote tolerance – but only if it’s taught in the right way
Until now religious education teaching has been compulsory but patchy in quality.

Three men — Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg, and Jeff Bezos — now own more wealth than 165 million Americans combined.

They own the media.
They own the algorithms.
They own politicians in both parties.

The system is rigged — but We the People can take it back.

If racism has no place in his party, then Nigel Farage should prove it by withdrawing the whip from Sarah Pochin immediately.

The 400 richest Americans are now worth a record $6.6 trillion, after getting $1.2 trillion richer over the past year alone.

Meanwhile, the rest of the country is getting squeezed by tariffs and high prices for groceries, utilities, and health care.

The system is broken.

Investing in our environment and our biodiversity: this week 970 square metres of seeds have been planted on Leamington Road in #Kenilworth. When the seeds flower next year they should inspire residents and welcome visitors to our town. There are 54 varieties of long season seeds and hedgerow mix.

Ken Paxton and John Cornyn claim to stand for freedom, family, and faith.

But you can't stand for freedom and control women's bodies.

You can't stand for family and vote against paid family leave.

You can't stand for faith and sell out the poor to give tax cuts to the rich.

Inspiring to be with Headteachers in #Warwickshire at their annual conference hearing about the connected challenges of SEND, exclusions, school absences, home to school transport, new school facilities, pupil achievement and ongoing financial pressures.

A day of joy and hope. But unless the international community moves very fast in getting a security presence on the ground in Gaza, the situation could descend into gangland violence: the last thing the people of Gaza need. Thanks @jamestalarico.bsky.social Perhaps not even top vs bottom. But rather between those who care enough about the impact to work with others to change what's done when the impact is bad and those who don't.
James Talarico: I don’t see politics as left vs. right. I see it as top vs. bottom. The billionaires are hurting all of us. They’re closing our schools, gutting our health care, raising our taxes... I hope to build a movement across divides to take power back for working people

I am horrified by the images of a mosque in Peacehaven burning after a suspected arson attack.

Everyone should be able to worship free from fear and terror.

Islamophobia is totally unacceptable. Those who spread hatred and incite violence against Muslim communities must stop.
