also th converse of this w canon izuku and parallel stranger kacchan would be more of a romcom LOL i think izuku's instincts are to stand equal to katsuki if not further, so seeing a stranger who scoffs at him inspires his competitive spirit and shenanigans happen heh ........
dun rly like strangers 2 lovers for dkbk so i ended up thinkin abt canon katsuki being dropped in a parallel universe where he and izuku had never met as children, meaning izuku still loves heroes but that ideal felt so far away that he ended up giving into th discouragement and pivoted away from
