Anti trust law is no longer really enforced in the USA, meaning that every time we are forced to buy from one of the monopolies that run everything, we are the victims of a crime

Our economic system is based on the people who own everything paying us the bare minimum that we need to survive on and working us as much as we will accept and using the profits from that to repeat the process as much as possible in a chain reaction of exploitation and runaway 'growth.'

It's more accurate to think of them as cartels- and their 'product' is the state monopoly on violence.
I'm a member of a teachers union. We do not abuse the trust that the public puts in us for political/financial gain. Police unions do that constantly.

Yeah she's a NED creature. This is an opportunity to perhaps educate the libs on how the capitalists work on a global scale to manufacture consent for wars like the one seemingly in the works against Venezuela. If they could only 'see the pattern' and realize that all this has happened before..

.. wrong or oversimplified, but teenagers really like things quick and they find reading an actual website a little intimidating. Any ideas for overcoming this? I've thought about 'Website Study' as an activity where they have to appreciate a web page the way that they would write about a painting.

I have the ability to monitor what my students do on their laptops in real time when they're in my classroom. I watch them do research and a majority of the students do not scroll past the 'AI overview' that Google gives them. I've tried really hard to communicate to them that it's often..

I didn't get to hear their interaction but it didn't seem to go well. The sadness in the driver's eyes. The cop's aggressive gesturing. Everything is so brutal, predatory, and exploitative at every level and I want people to realize it doesn't have to be this way.

While waiting at a stop light I observed: cop gets out of car and walks to put a parking ticket on a car that is parked in a 'no parking any time' spot. Owner of car walks out of business it was parked next to and he's obviously a door dasher delivery guy just trying to get an order and go.

It's really frustrating when I'm talking to someone who is otherwise pretty progressive and has a mostly materialist understanding of reality, but then when China is mentioned the NED chip inside their brain activates they're all like 'aaaa thousands of people getting run over by tanks'

Totally not trite- very good way to support comrades. The pace of our life under capitalism is so unreasonable that it's difficult to find the time and focus to attend to our basic biological needs.

The local late night horror host show dubbed sound effects over top of old movies and one time they did Carnival of Souls and during the scene where the kids are opening their mouths to take communion they dubbed funny burp sounds each time. I was 9 and I laughed so hard.

Probably a bad sign that my high school students are writing papers against compulsory schooling on the basis that students need to be free to work jobs during the day to help support the family.

Yeah we don't enforce antitrust law in the USA anymore. Very rich people are committing massive crimes against all of us constantly and facing no consequences.

Your job is one of the most challenging in the world. Take heart in the fact that it takes most teachers between 3 to 5 years before they feel like they know what they are doing and can consistently get the kids where they want them to be. I'm on year five and it's still a mess, but it gets easier.
