Attention #artists and #creatives! (Esp. those doing #electronicmusic, #aiart, and #touchdesigner.) Show me an undeniably badass #art account on #bluesky. (Because so far I'm not seeing any.) Until then I'm gonna step away. I want to put my energy into communities that inspire me/us to elevate.
TBH, I'm not really seeing much art community developing here (at least not w/ regard to the sort of stuff we're doing over on Threads/IG). I don't want to just CC stuff from IG/Threads. But without getting some engagement, it's not clear what I should post. The the character limit is also annoying.
This happens to me all the time! I feel like there is something very liminal going on in those moments, not realizing how caught up I am in a fleeting state of mind. And then in retrospect, I ponder what type of description might have helped me recall the moment.
The Intersectionalists (2024) #aiart
What distinguishes humans from other animals is not that we are so smart or aware, but that we can convert our curiosity, playfulness, and sentimentality into cultural practices/concepts that pass from generation to generation, auxiliary to our biology processes.
Technically, what you're describing here is "social democracy", which is colloquially known as a welfare state. Socialism has a more particular definition that relates to the "means of production".
VAR1ABLE$: flakey encoder (2025) #aiart
#patriarchy, #capitalism, and their buddy #individualism are at the absolute core of our civilizational rot. It is a culture of impunity and moral latitude that has become invisible to the masses. And there is no better example of its wholesale toxicity and peril than the coming ecological collapse.
"Rounding the Earth" (2024) #aiart
It's sweet to see people want to defend America against fascists and grifters. But sometimes I wonder what specifically is worth saving. Of course we should be egalitarian and decent to each other. Of course we should support the vulnerable. But none of that is exclusive to America or civilization.
Is there a difference between fans of traditional art and fans of a.i. art? Is it weird for someone to be a fan of a.i. art specifically?

I feel like most people who are following my work are also artists. But that blurring of fans/participants seems to be growing in much of the art world.
Facelesses of the Apocalypse (2024) #aiart
We live in a Dunning-Kruger world. It's like a battle royale of ignorance. The irony is that if people just fully and openly embraced their ignorance (and made a mantra of "I don't know"), we'd be a much wiser world.
Psychedelic Sunday (2023) #aiart
It's the asymmetrical power relations of the net that make it dangerous. The net is mostly a platform of corporate hegemony and surveillance capitalism. And now the pseudo-libertarian ideologies of Silicon Valley (that built most of the Internet) are revealing their fascist underbelly.
Thank you! I appreciate you saying that. Just followed you back. 🙏😊
Oh, like right now! Good connection!

How does one become a complete whole fulfilled person?
Lots of people would rather scrounge acceptance for their less-than-appealing current selves than take a risk and put in the work to become the type of person to which good company naturally gravitates.
Even if a.i. art is mostly trash, by offering mass-scale conceptual tools, classic philosophical issues arise. What is "art" when certain obstacles are removed? Lowered barriers also raise issues of facilitating transgression. Contentious subjects can more readily be scaled up in their production.
