Next year's WorldCon is in Los Angeles, and the theme appears to be Westward Expansion or possibly Manifest Destiny. The guests are referred to as Pioneers and the venue as The Frontier. This year the awards were swept by Indigenous writers. The choice is stunning in its ugliness.

I've spent the last month learning how to dye with indigo using Arashi Shibori techniques and made some books with it!

Used one of my favorite longstitch techniques for the binding, too.

my first #wipwed in a while and it is, you guessed it, frerard sex pollen !!!

It was Gerard's fault for going to a weird little hole-in-the-wall coffee shop instead of Starbucks or Dunkin' Donuts like they usually do on the road. They only had, like, less than an hour before they had to be back on the bus, though, and he was jonesing for a fix.
There wasn't even a sign outside the shop or anything; he was just walking down a city street in some town between LA and San Francisco and had happened to glance to the side as he passed it.
Spotting the espresso machines and pastry cases through the window, he decided this was as good a place as any to stop.
The first thing he noticed as he crossed the threshold into the store was the smell - it was at once herbal, floral and hazy. It reminded him of a hookah bar, or one of those shops that sell funky candles and crystals. There was the warm, familiar scent of ground coffee underneath it, but it was much fainter than he'd expect.
The second thing he noticed was the barista was staring at him - had been, in fact, since the moment he stepped inside. He still wasn't used to being recognized in public, but this didn't seem like one of those times.
