Basic #takeaways: The likelihood of change is low in foreseeable future. The systemic changes under way create powerful path dependencies. Still, the #EU can take steps to further 'unpower' Putin's regime, including through secondary sanctions, and to invest in a peaceful future Russia.

To challenge Moscow’s Arctic ambitions, Europe should end LNG imports from the Russian Arctic & reduce dependence on Rosatom, argues @ditrych.bsky.social in WorldECR. Future sanctions & export controls could also target Arctic minerals, increasingly accessible due to climate change.
