That's my experience. I increased the number I followed by an order of magnitude and switched to Following. Within a few months, the replies filled up with illiterate ad hominems and drowned out any sensible discussion. I'm happy I switched a while ago.
Thanks. I was looking for Kimber in order to put up TMBG on his #KillerSongs and saw his mash post on the way. Somehow, the way it wrapped inside Adam and the Ants sprung straight into my head. I'm not normally that sharp.
