This adult Caspian Gull was a late arrival in the evening gloom at Little Marlow Gravel Pit this evening. Gull numbers have been decent the last few weeks, but Casps have been few and far between

During my return from an unexpected trip to 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 I thought I would break the journey in 1/2 at Gretna for the Richardson’s Cackling Goose. Managed eventually to pick it out of the c3000 Barnies. Small Size ✅ short neck ✅ steep forehead ✅, single bird ✅. @birdguides.bsky.social

An early morning journey and first time visit to Rutland Waters for an incredibly close up view of a young Baird’s Sandpiper. Initially chose the wrong side to look for it but eventually caught up with it through the fog on the peninsula. @birdguides.bsky.social #digiscope

After poor views of possibly the Willen Ferruginous Duck in 2024 followed by distant views of the Colne Valley bird later in the year, it was great to see close up views of this at #LMGP yesterday evening found by @marlowbirder.bsky.social. No rings on show so hopefully it will pass the test.

Birding South Bucks this month has frustratingly lived up to its inland reputation. But this weekend connected with some nice common migrants. #ukbirds

Not much birding for me this summer/Autumn so far. But nice this week to catch up with passing migrants. Whinchats are always a favourite to see. #ukbirds #birds #digiscope #wildlife #migration #photography. 📷 #iphone16pro 🔭 #kowa883

Bits & bobs of local Gull action this week. Couple of Caspos 2cy & 3cy (thanks Jamie for the 👍🏻 on this one). First views of Juvs LBBGs that have been raised on an industrial rooftop next door. But, the #gulloftheweek goes to a brutish Yellow Legged Gull on my local landfill #ukbirding #gullswp

@jamiepartridge.bsky.social any thoughts on this local Gull? It was giving me Casp so much through the scope. Flight shots all blown out. Legs appear pale to light pink in video (I felt they were warmer in real time). Appreciate hard to comment from stills but interest in your thoughts. 👍🏻👍🏻 #gullswp
