Retired software engineering leader. Amateur wildlife, landscape, and astro photographer. My wife and I travel the world looking for adventures, wildlife, history, culture, and scenery. Canon EOS R5 and R5 Mk.II.
I took a 473-frame Timelapse of Comet C/2025 A6 (Lemmon) overlooking the Columbia River near the Gorge, but all the satellites make it look like the city of Ellensburg is trying to shoot it down. Make sure you turn the sound up!

Comet A6 Lemmon with an almost 8° tail. This is a stack of 47 exposures, 60s each tracked using an iOptron SkyGuider Pro. Superimposed on top of a star background from a single frame from the stack. Taken with a Canon EOS R5 and an RF 70-200 at 200mm.

Cormorant at Beavertail State Park, RI. You can clearly see the fish hook this poor guy has stuck in his wing, but fortunately it didn’t seem to slow him down.

Edinburgh Hill, Antarctica. This wasn’t on our itinerary, and we only ended up here because we were on course for the airstrip on King George Island to med-vac a seriously ill crew member. (He was successfully evac’d and made a full recovery.)
