She is vile but not as stupid as she sometimes pretends to be & now she's looking ahead, to a time when Trump is no longer President & the growing backlash against his period in office kicks in. She's breaking ranks to save her skin.

.....and the realty is, it isn't. There's a substantial minority that is & always has been & they are getting way too much attention right now whilst the centre & centre left majority are sidelined or ignored. Labour in government need to focus on improving living standards not moving far right.

The Tories are collapsing but it's a bit rich to claim that Labour & the Lib Dems are in the same position, as they aren't & equating Davey & Farage's behaviour is just weird. Farage is routinely platformed & feted by the press, Davey isn't. As for David Frost, he wants the UK to be far right.

Israel relies on US money. Trump threatened to stop paying up. Netanyahu caved. 'Juggernaut' Trump will now require some form of payback, those lovely resort hotels he would like to build. I'm glad of the ceasefire but the whole lot stinks. As for that headline, are you serious dear Guardian?

I completely agree with you. There's a focus on right wing clickbait because it generates clicks & engagement, good for the advertisers but with a terrible effect on our society. It is reckless behaviour that has enabled the rise of Reform as some sort of exciting alternative. They're not.

Here's an example of what is going badly wrong right now. Thames Water bills have gone up 31% in a year, they can increase by 36% over 5 years, now Labour have given them permission to raise them even more. This is just 1 bill. Labour need to change tack & fast. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

If you judge that article by the terrible headline & cartoon, I would agree with you. The actual article is far better than the clickbait headline would suggest & Chakrabortty is right, the cost of living is the thing that will either sink Labour in 2029, or make them swim, not copying Reform.

Apologies, not Malik, Chakrabortty wrote the article. It's too early & haven't had my coffee yet! They're also right to note that part of the problem is the press, again, with their focus on the 'excitement' of Reform & Farage whilst boring stuff like water bills or groceries isn't clickbait enough

Starmer is still wasting time & alienating supporters with the Reform Lite policy, when he needs to focus on tangibly improving day to day living. Some things are already happening but not promoted, others such as the later water & utility bill hikes are appalling, food inflation too, all ignored.

Terriible clickbait & insulting headline leading to a serious article. I was prepared to be upset with how facile the article would be, but in fact Malik is right. The focus on 'patriotism', hides the real concerns that will decide the next election, the cost of living crisis that hasn't stopped.

FFS. What is happening in the UK right now? Monitoring social media is the job of the police if they think a crime is being committed, not a general thing for universities to waste time & money on, on behalf of arms companies. This should be pretty basic stuff.
