Former Senator NSW. Life member AMWU.
Calling it as it is!
Bob Carr, Gareth Evans and thousands of Labor party members understand how dangerous, expensive and all consuming the dumb AUKUS rip off is.
Australia can play a massively more constructive role pursuing peace not funding the US and UK war machines.
January 12, 2026 at 9:54 PM
How does feeding the US military industrial complex and Trump’s increasingly facist regime align with claims of being aligned with “democratic values”?
ALP leadership has abandoned claims of pursuing world peace, a rules based order and democratic principles. It’s disgusting!
January 11, 2026 at 8:46 PM
Our PM is being watched over by an autocratic narcissist who unleashes armed killers against his own people. This is a bizarre and cruel joke.
We should quit being a vassal state, stand up for ourselves and recognise Malcolm Fraser’s warning that the US is a dangerous ally!

A Royal Commission, adopting the flawed Segal Report, including the IHA definition of antisemitism, cracking down on legitimate demonstrations against Israeli govt genocide and apartheid will not silence those who see this as a political opportunity to bring down a Labor govt.
January 9, 2026 at 7:09 PM
If the Royal Commission is to investigate issues of social cohesion it cannot ignore the implications of Israel’s genocide in Palestine and the role of all religious extremism. The RC must ensure the separation of church and state and not preference any religion or group.
January 8, 2026 at 9:19 AM
Trump DCOS Stephen Miller claims Greenland should be “part of our overall security apparatus….part of the US”. We have voluntarily become an appendage of the US security apparatus. AUKUS subjugates us to an aggressive, warmongering regime who flaunt international law and peace.
January 6, 2026 at 10:10 PM
I’m sick of so called “experts” like Jennings who feed off the military industrial complex blaming Labor for the Bondi terrorist attack. Ignoring the slaughter of innocents, apartheid, and ethnic cleansing by the Israeli govt and IDF is intellectually and morally bankrupt.
December 30, 2025 at 8:07 PM
If the NSW ALP executive/Premier charges members who oppose Israeli genocide, apartheid and war crimes with antisemitism the National Executive must intervene and place the branch in administration. Starmer style attacks on ALP opponents of Israeli genocide have no place here.
December 27, 2025 at 8:00 PM
I have been an active member of the ALP since the early 70’s. The description of the ALP by a group calling themselves “Labor Israel Action Committee” and reported in the Murdoch press makes no sense to me or thousands of ALP members. It’s straight out of the Starmer play book!
December 27, 2025 at 8:21 AM
Baseless, divisive and excessive, rhetoric from a desperate Coalition demonstrates that political survival comes before dignity, truth and the national interest. Demanding govt ministers cry in public to show support for victims of terrorism is juvenile, nonsensical claptrap!
December 22, 2025 at 4:03 AM
Looks like a Royal Commission is on the cards. Terms of Reference will be important. Will it:
•Examine the role of religious extremism in a secular society?
. The impact of Israeli genocide, imperialism, and apartheid on domestic politics?
. The influence of Israel on MPs?

December 20, 2025 at 9:34 PM
I have policy differences with the PM. Nevertheless Albo is a smart, hardworking and successful politician. The pile on by the RW media a desperate opposition and Frydenberg is disgusting. Blaming him personally for an act of terrorism is grubby, partisan, opportunist politics.
December 20, 2025 at 8:26 PM
Minns fails to understand that real democracy requires concerned citizens demonstrating against inhumanity, genocide, apartheid, colonialism and misuse of power. A Labor Premier must not sacrifice democratic rights on the altar of ill informed, short term, knee jerk reactions.
December 19, 2025 at 8:41 PM
Labor must critically analyse the effect on democracy and the right to protest of adopting the Segal report recommendations.
Conflating antisemitism with legitimate opposition to Israeli govt genocide, apartheid and breaches of international law would be a grave mistake.
December 18, 2025 at 7:51 PM
Disgusting, cowardly anti semitic terrorist attacks on Australian citizens cannot be justified. We need a calm and measured response not a knee jerk reaction. The families of victims need support in their time of grief. Peace and tolerance needed here and in the Middle East.
December 14, 2025 at 6:25 PM
Tomorrow morning 9.00am I’m on @the_sunday_shot with Zoe Daniel,Jo Dyer and Dave Milner. Discussing the year in review, the dreaded AUKUS, parliamentary “entitlements”, housing, cost of living, political courage, Palestine, Trump, global warming and much more!
December 13, 2025 at 12:54 AM
“Full steam ahead” on AUKUS. Hegseth “applauds” another $1B of our money handed over to the US military industrial complex. Wong claims it’s a win for Australia 😳
Abandoning our sovereignty, preparing for war with our most important trading partner, is a disaster not a win!
December 8, 2025 at 8:45 PM
Interesting article from Wayne Swan. The strength of Labor used to be “contentious” debate resulting in good policy.
Discipline is ok but conformity is a recipe for militarism and neoliberalism.
Progressive taxation, public housing and a social wage is not contentious.
December 6, 2025 at 9:29 PM
More AUKUS secrecy and political manipulation by Trump as we dance to the tune of the US military industrial complex. Champagne corks popping as the bank accounts of lobbyists, former politicians, defence personnel and public servants burst with AUKUS $s. Militarism gone mad!
December 5, 2025 at 6:46 PM
What a surprise! Trump, according to Richard Marles is “completely supportive” of AUKUS,
We abandon our sovereignty, sign a one sided dud deal, subsidise the US and UK military industrial establishments, build public housing for US troops, antagonise China.
What a deal for Trump!
December 4, 2025 at 9:57 PM
As criticism of the atrocious AUKUS deal increases, what better than some shock horror headlines of another Chinese flotilla. The hypocrisy knows no bounds as we snuggle up to Trump by conducting “freedom of navigation” exercises off the coast of China.

A corrupt, despicable US President calls for a pardon for Netanyahu who bears responsibility for death, destruction, apartheid and genocide. This would be a huge blow to what is left of the rule of law, democratic processes and decency in the US and Israel. These are our “allies”!
November 30, 2025 at 7:10 PM
A secretive joint committee modelled on the PJCIS ( by far weakest of its type in comparative nations) will not deliver the scrutiny and accountability desperately needed on AUKUS.
This committee won’t address militarism, loss of sovereignty, and a potential war with China.
November 27, 2025 at 7:27 PM
Trump spends US taxpayers money on military golf courses. We subsidise the US war machine through the crazy $365B AUKUS fiasco.
We build public housing for a US base in Australia while our citizens are homeless.
The political establishment has gone crazy!
November 23, 2025 at 8:28 PM
Murdoch rag the Australian plunging to new depths of bias, partisanship and stupidity. Features former disgraced Qantas boss Alan Joyce calling for weaker industrial laws, and more power for corporations. Labor should reject this madness and condemn ruthless corporate behaviour.
