Academic friends: many of you have worked on NSF ADVANCE. I’ve been involved since 2008. If you Google ADVANCE, you get this. This program has given millions of dollars, mostly to universities, to promote equity for STEM faculty. The message on that page is eerily appropriate.

I have a friend who teaches at U Mississippi. Black and Latino students there are already getting anonymous texts telling them to report to the nearest plantation to pick cotton. And Trump’s not even in office yet. This Pandora’s box of hate will have horrors within it we can't yet imagine.
