of course my interpretation is that felicia was in love with corrin and corrin was in love with flora and flora was sleeping with corrin secretly in order to protect felicia from her and hated herself for it. only works with f! or nb!corrin because with m! it's like, twin sister maid threesome. ew.

Yeah I’m def with you for the most part, I can think of like a few contradicting cases but honestly I think the scariest gore is present in non-horror genre stories

AND ANOTHER THING i think when people say they don’t want scary horror they are actually looking for/talking about gothic stories, but they think the two are synonymous. like gothic horror is a hybrid genre. it’d be like thinking romantasy, romance and fantasy were all the same.

it’s an in-spite-of situation on both sides and like, i do not think “being scary” is really something you can objectively fail or succeed at since it’s so personal but…a viewer of horror is ALLOWED to like a movie less because it wasn’t scary. like this is HORROR.

it feels crazy to me that wanting to be scared by horror is like a controversial take. like yeah horror that doesn’t scare me can be phenomenal. but also like 😭 a horror story has never been worse because it’s scary and a horror story is never better because it isn’t scary.
